WEATHER WARNING FOR HIGH WINDS
Issued 8pm, Monday 13th January 2020

...WEATHER WARNING FOR HIGH WINDS REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 12PM TO 11:59PM TUESDAY 14TH JANUARY 2020...

WHAT: Gales with gusts of around 55 to 60 mph in exposed locations, and widespread gusts of 40 to 50 mph elsewhere.

WHERE: Severn Estuary coastal fringe and exposed hills including the following locations Beachley, Lydney, Newnham, Westbury, Cinderford, Coleford, and Ruardean

WHEN: Between 12pm and 11:59pm on Tuesday.

IMPACTS: Driving conditions may be hazardous, especially for high sided or towing vehicles. Additionally, locally heavy rain is expected, leading to some spray and surface water. There is a slight risk of disruption to power supplies, especially if stronger gusts occur.

PRECAUTIONARY / PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: Allow extra time for your journey. When driving be alert to the risk of strong and gusty crosswinds, especially on exposed routes. Secure loose outdoor objects that may blow around in the wind.

NEXT UPDATE: This warning will be allowed to expire at 11:59pm on Tuesday, unless conditions require an update before that time.
